Pink Vintage!
Are you feeling tickled pink? Lol! I love bright pink and I love how I pulled off this thrifted pink dress recently. So Sunday I paired this vintage pink pleated dress with 3/4 sleeves with black pumps and gold jewelry. I absolutely loveeee vintage pieces. I would suggest everyone have at least one vintage piece in their closet. Needless to say this look was a hit! No, you can't just go out and get this dress from Macy's or H&M but you can probably find something similar but if you want the real thing check your local thrift stores! The look was simple yet made a bold statement. No need for separates you can get the bold statement piece effect with just one pop of color in a dress. This look was also a more conservative look for a younger woman like myself. Believe it or not back in the day this was a typical look, a high scoop neck and below the knee skirt. But, I can say although it was more conservative I felt it went very well with my new bangs! :) By the way, the makeup I paired with this look is a nuetral eye (shades of brown) and a pink lip. I used all Ulta eye shadows and the lip stain color was NYX -Beige (its a pink I promise). Kudos for Vintage Style that I'm bringing back in style!

Plus Size Celebrity Spotlight: ADELE!
She is making fashion news daily. Yes, she is curvy and in control of the music scene and yes let’s not forget, plus size. Her name is Adele. You may know her from her hit song “Rolling in the Deep” but I know her as a staple in plus size fashion. Her beautiful voice is not the only thing she is being recognized for but also her BLACK! Black clothing that is. Let’s just say she’s a huge fan of wearing black clothing. Her sleek sometimes daring apparel is making fashion headlines. She has a mixture of sleek, retro, 60/70s style and I am in love with it. She sets trends daily! Not only does she have an awesome fashion sense, her makeup is to die for! Those lashes and black liquid eyeliner makes her eyes really pop. Now, there are not many if any plus size female vocalists that have blown up as much as she so Adele is my plus size celebrity spotlight. She is a huge inspiration for me and I’m sure she is for a lot more plus size divas. This Brit star is on the rise to fashionista status and believe me she’s one to watch! You go girl!

Go Tribal or Go Home!
Tribal is in and is actually still going to be seen in this coming up fall 2011 collections. Today I decided to go tribal! I love patterns and this outfit really gave me the opportunity to color block as well. I paired a tribal green and brown skirt with a mustard yellow tank and a cream sweater cardigan. Michigan's summer weather isn't as hot as it has been usually, only getting into the low 70s today so that's why I threw on the cardigan. The shoes I decided to pair it with this outfit are just some lime green sandals. I finished this look with a twisted headband worn on my forehead, a 3 flower gold necklace, and yellow rose studs.

Cheetah Love!!!!
Hey everyone! It has been a couple of days since I've posted something so here is a new look! Cheetah print is definitely in this season and I wanted to play around with some colors as well. It took me all week to find all the pieces to this outfit but I finally did and the look came together soooooo well. This has to be my favorite look I've done. I used a body con plum color skirt and paired it with a cheetah print silk material shirt and put on a black blazer over it. I finished the look with gold accessories. Flawless! Now to me body con skirts are very cute for a day or a night look BUT although they make it for all sizes, us as plus size women can't wear a tucked in shirt with the body con skirt because most of us have the problem of the gut area. A simple solution is to wear a flowy non fitted top with the body con skirt. You still get that effect of slenderness in the thighs but you avoid pinpointing your problem area. Overall this look is a great business attire or church outfit as I used it ;)....

Nail Polish Galore!
I’m a sucker for nail polish. Like any girl, I think nail polish in any shade is a statement that demands to be seen. I’ve recently started my own collection of nail polishes because let’s face it my college student budget can’t afford me to get pampered every week with a mani/pedi. So, to save money I decided to start doing my nails myself. It’s actually quite nice because I can change the color anytime I want. I’m in control and that makes me the designer. Now, there are TONS of shades out there, from the lightest shades of white to the brightest of neon highlighter yellow to the darkest of every shade of gray and black. Nail polish is every affordable too, if you know how to shop around for the biggest bargain. They can range anywhere from 1 dollar to 15 dollars. Now I’m not recommending any particular brand of polish because I own a wide variety but I will say this: I loveeeee OPI! OPI has the brightest, boldest colors I’ve seen. They are so popular that even celebrities, like Katy Perry, are teaming up with OPI to make their own signature colors. By the way let me also say this: I am team natural nails. I did for a while have acrylic nails but it took too much effort and money to maintain and it’s not that great for your nails. I found that my nails actually grew more when I took care of them myself and didn’t use acrylic fake nails. I also use this special top coat which I got from my roommate. It’s called “Bright Plus Rossie System”. It works miracles. My nails are healthy strong and growing ;)…So remember express yourself with your nail polish!
